FAQs  (frequently asked questions)

Your services are free. How are you funded?

We are sponsored and financed by the South Gippsland Shire Council.

Are you sponsored by any political or religious organizations?

No. There is no hidden agenda or motive behind our services.

How long have you been in operation?

The CAB has been in operation in Leongatha since 1977.

Can I become involved?

Yes. We endeavour to have two training courses per year to train new volunteers. A training course consists of a one day per week training day for six weeks.

What areas do you cover?

With Internet access we can answer questions on a world-wide range of topics but specifically we cover the South Gippsland Shire Council area, although sometimes we also handle enquiries from outside the shire.

Do I need to make an appointment to use your services?

No.  Most of our enquiries are handled as they come to us. In the case of tax help however, we do request you make an appointment so our specially trained tax-help volunteers will be on duty when you come.

Do you support or endorse any particular businesses?

No. Our service is impartial with regard to any services provided by private businesses, and we do not recommend or endorse any particular business.

Any other questions?
